In response to a number of customer requests, Logitech Electronics has prepared a statement on the use of Conflict Minerals in its products. Specifically, these are tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn), tungsten (W) and gold (Au), commonly referred to collectively as 3T&G, that originate in and around the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
None of these minerals are used by Logitech in raw material form. However, as a manufacturer of electronic sensors and instrumentation, all of Logitech’s products contain a small amount of tin, which is the main constituent of solder and therefore essential to manufacture. Tin may also be present in other essential components and contacts. Logitech Electronics undertakes due diligence in attempt to ensure that Conflict Minerals are not used in our products. Logitech only uses components sourced from reputable suppliers and produced by reputable manufacturers. Logitech also requires that these suppliers and/or manufacturers have a Conflict Minerals policy in place with regards to the materials used in their products; all such suppliers are required to undertake due diligence to ensure that the supplied product is DRC conflict-free.
In some specific product lines (not applicable to our magnetic pickups or Hall effect sensors), tantalum or gold may also be present in essential components. In accordance with our Conflict Minerals Policy, such components are only sourced from reputable suppliers and manufacturers.
