Hall Effect Speed Sensors
Zero speed
Hall effect speed sensors provide speed measurement down to zero speed
Sense external magnetic fields
The HES sensors provide pulse on detection of an external magnetic field (e.g. rotating magnets, magnetized rotors).
Ferrous Target Hall effect sensors
Our N-series Hall effect sensors contain in internal bias magnet, allowing detection of ferrous objects e.g. gear teeth.
Dual Output Hall effect sensors
Our D-series Hall effect sensors have dual outputs giving them the ability to sense direction as well as speed.
Our Hall effect speed sensors are designed to measure down to zero speed. A Hall effect switch provides an output pulse in response to the presence of an external magnetic field, due to the change in magnetic flux density. The N-series gear tooth Hall effect speed sensors instead detect ferrous material. These contain an internal magnet which creates a bias field, the presence of the gear tooth results in an increase in the magnetic flux density causing the device to switch.
Hall effect speed sensors are active devices, requiring a power supply. We typically use an integral MS 10SL-3P connector, though models with flying leads or a 3-core screened captive cable are also available.
Reliability, Guaranteed
We place great emphasis on the quality and reliability of our product and all of our hall effect sensors are supplied with a 2 year warranty.
Standard Hall effect sensors
Custom Hall effect sensors
We manufacture Hall effect sensors to customer specification, including thread type/length, input/output voltage, termination, body material/style.
